WESTFIELD, Massachusetts (May 23, 2022) – A meet-and-greet and a community event with the team will give fans a sneak preview of the Bullens Magic to come before the Westfield Starfires open the 2022 Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) season with four games in the first calendar week of play, with a pair of home games and two away games.

The Starfires will be very visible on Tuesday, May 24. At 4:00 p.m., members of the team will be at Park Square, located at the center of Westfield, before heading up to the Swingfield Batting Cages, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Both events will give fans the opportunity to meet the opening day roster.

The squad will debut at home on Thursday, May 26. The game is Kids Opening Day, and features a 10:30 a.m. matchup against the defending FCBL Champion Vermont Lake Monsters. 

The following night, the teams will face off again at Centennial Field in Burlington, Vermont with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.

Opening Night, sponsored by Westfield Bank, is slated for Saturday, May 28. The Starfires will welcome their Western Massachusetts rival, the Pittsfield Suns, to the Whip City, with festivities before the first pitch, which scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Among the festivities will be a Bud Light Seltzer tasting, and a pregame musical performance.

The Suns will then host the final day of play for the week at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with a contest set to start at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.
