WESTFIELD, Massachusetts (August 5, 2023) – The Westfield Starfires have partnered with the American Cancer Society’s Hartford/Springfield Chapter to support the 2023 Men Wear Pink initiative to raise funds for breast cancer treatment and research.

The game on Saturday, August 5 against the Brockton Rox, presented by Liberty Bank, will feature a special pregame ceremony to kick off the campaign. One hundred percent of all online ticket sales will be donated to the cause. Click here to purchase tickets.

“We are excited to continue our awareness and raise funds for this great cause,” said Jeffrey Sattler, the Western Massachusetts representative on the American Cancer Society of Hartford/Springfield Board of Directors. “We appreciate our new partnership with the Starfires to further enhance our initiative.”

The Men Wear Pink initiative’s goal is to “end breast cancer as we know it, by funding innovative breast cancer research; providing education and guidance to help people reduce their risk; and offering comprehensive patient support to those who need it most that no one faces breast cancer alone,” per the ACS website.

Starfires Owner Chris Thompson, who has been named a Men Wear Pink Ambassador, will be joined on the field before the game by other area Ambassadors to help kick off the campaign, which will run through October.
