WESTFIELD, Massachusetts (August 1, 2022) – Nothing is riding on this week but the whole season.
The Starfires sit two games ahead of both Worcester and Norwich for the final playoff spot in the Futures League with six games remaining for the three teams. Westfield does not directly play them, but controls its destiny: five wins, regardless of what the Bravehearts and Sea Unicorns do, will put the Starfires into the postseason for the first time.
Fortunately, Westfield gets to have plenty of #BullensMagic as four of the last six are at home.
Brockton comes to town both Tuesday and Thursday night, sandwiched around a trip to Nashua. Westfield is three back of the Silver Knights for third, so there is a shot still at moving up.
The weekend features the final visit for Pittsfield before a home-and-home with New Britain, who has not yet technically clinched a playoff spot either but is on the precipce, and hangs just ahead of Nashua in second. Friday night will be AIC Hockey Night at Bullens, with a few members of AIC's four-time Atlantic Hockey Champions throwing a first pitch and bringing the Jack Riley Memorial Trophy to Bullens Field.
Tickets are available for each home game at the above links, or at the Bullens Field Box Office, starting at $10.
