WESTFIELD, Massachusetts (June 20, 2022) – With a slump busted in a big way, the Starfires sit in the upper quarter of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League standings heading into the fifth week of play. It will be another week primarily spent away, but two home games are on the slate that Westfield fans should look forward to.
The team opens at Holman Stadium against the Nashua Silver Knights on Tuesday, June 21 at 6:00 p.m. before returning to Bullens Field the following day for a battle with the Worcester Bravehearts at 6:30 p.m. Following that, the Starfires will head to New Britain for the first time in 2022, where they will face off against the Bees on Thursday, June 23 at 6:35 p.m.
On Friday, June 24, the Starfires will host the Pittsfield Suns. It will be Military Appreciation Night, with the team debuting their new third jerseys which honor the 104th Fighter Wing stationed at Barnes Air National Guard Base. All veterans and active-duty military will be granted free admission; additionally, fans will receive a free ticket with the donation of a bag of canned goods, which will be collected for One Call Away, a resource organization for veterans impacted by post-traumatic stress disorder.
