Starfires on fire, Nashua up next

The Westfield Starfires held off a Worcester rally and utilized some #BullensMagic to pull off a win on Thursday night at Bullens Field. It was the second consecutive home win for the locals who defeated Brockton the previous night, 14-4. With the game tied 5-5 in the 8th inning, Hunter Pasqualini took advantage of some Bullens Magic by beating out a throw from the Bravehearts shortstop. What looked to be a routine ground-out got swallowed up by the infield dirt and put Pasqualini on first. The Starfires third baseman then stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and came home on a wild pitch as well, plating the winning run. The Starfires benefitted from a strong outing for pitcher Ryan Shea who gave up only one earned one and racked up 9 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. Westfield looks to keep the streak alive tonight at home against Nashua.
