SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – The Westfield Starfires are preparing to host the rival Worcester Bravehearts in the Second Annual Starfires Summer Classic, presented by MGM Springfield, at the historic Michael T. Downey Fields at Walker Memorial Grandstand in Forest Park in Springfield, on Sunday, July 28.

The event, which is free admission to the public, will feature a live performance by the Frank Manzi Band. White Lion Brewing and Palazzo Café will also be on-site, allowing fans to purchase refreshments throughout.

Additionally, the team will host a free youth baseball clinic put on by Starfires players, including Springfield native and rising freshman at Boston College Julio Solier and Westfield native and 2024 FCBL All-Star Jake Jachym, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. as the Starfires seek to close in on claiming their second FCBL Playoff berth in three seasons and battle for their first-ever FCBL regular season title.

Last season’s edition was a resounding success as 1673 fans packed the Walker Memorial Grandstand to see Westfield down the Pittsfield Suns 11-7 in the inaugural event.
