Christopher Thompson is the co-founder and owner of the Westfield Starfires, a Futures Collegiate Baseball League franchise that has become a vibrant part of the Western Massachusetts sports landscape. With 25 years of experience in sports and entertainment marketing, Chris has built a career focused on driving revenue through strategic partnerships, ticket sales, and community engagement.

He began his career at the Boston-based agency Woolf Associates, managed by NHL legend Bobby Orr, before returning to Western Massachusetts to join the American Hockey League’s front office as a marketing coordinator. He later held senior leadership roles with the Springfield Falcons and was instrumental in the launch of the Springfield Thunderbirds—helping to increase attendance by 50% and guiding the organization to multiple league awards for business excellence.

In addition to his work in sports, Chris owns Decorate with Lights, a holiday and event lighting franchise serving clients throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

A Western Massachusetts native, Chris is deeply committed to his community. He has served on numerous local boards, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Western Massachusetts Sports Commission, and the West Springfield Park & Recreation Commission. He is also a recipient of BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty award.
