WESTFIELD, Massachusetts (July 5, 2023) – The Westfield Starfires have made changes to the team’s upcoming schedule, manager Kyle Dembrowski announced on Wednesday, July 5.
Four dates of competition, including three previous contests which were postponed due to inclement weather, have been rescheduled as doubleheaders. Per Futures Collegiate Baseball League rules, all doubleheader games are seven-inning contests.
Two of the dates are home contests. The game originally scheduled for Saturday, June 24 against the Nashua Silver Knights will now be played Tuesday, July 18. The game originally scheduled for July 5 against the Pittsfield Suns will now be played Thursday, August 3. Game one of both doubleheaders will feature a 5:00 p.m. first pitch.
Additionally, there are two road contests which were rained out and have been rescheduled. The Sunday, July 2 game at the Pittsfield Suns will now be played on Saturday, July 15 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Wahconah Park, while the Monday, July 3 contest at the New Britain Bees will now be played on Wednesday, July 12 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at New Britain Stadium.
Fans who had tickets for either of the home contests which have been rescheduled can use those tickets for any remaining 2023 regular season Starfires game at the Richards Jewelers Diamond at Billy Bullens Field.
