Westfield tabs Dussault as “Voice of the Starfires”

WESTFIELD _ The Westfield Starfires have announced the addition of veteran broadcaster Seth Dussault as the first-ever “Voice of the Stafires.”

Dussault will handle play-by-play duties for all Starfire home games during the 2020 season.

A native of Easthampton, Dussault has a long history of working with sports media in the local market and particularly at the collegiate level. He has been a member of the athletic communications staff at American International College in nearby Springfield since in 2007 and is presently the College’s Coordinator of Athletic Communications.

He currently serves as “The Voice of the Yellow Jackets,” calling baseball and softball as well as a myriad of other sports, including the NCAA Division I Ice Hockey team that won back-to-back Atlantic Hockey Conference titles in 2018-19 and 2019-20. He won the Team Asset Award from the women’s lacrosse team in 2017 and the Gary Wright Award from the ice hockey team in 2017-18, as well as being named the winner of the Most Dedicated Yellow Jacket of the Year Award by the athletic department in 2017-18.

In addition to his work at AIC, Dussault has worked in communications with several other teams around the Pioneer Valley. He spent three seasons with the Valley Blue Sox of the NECBL, primarily working media for the team but filling in on the broadcast for the team as necessary. He also spent three seasons with the Springfield Pics of the USPHL as their play-by-play broadcaster and Director of Communications, including overseeing the redesign of the springfieldjrpics.com website and creating all of the web and social media content.

Dussault graduated from AIC in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in history and again in 2015 with a Master’s degree in special education. He presently resides in Springfield.

Seth Dussault worked with the Westfield Starfires during franchise’s inaugural season serving as the team’s official statistician during its first campaign.

“Seth is part of the AIC family which makes him part of our family,” said Don Moorhouse, AIC alum and co-owner of the Starfires. “He is passionate about sports and broadcasting and has grown into a top-notch play-by-play man. He calls a good game.”

Starfires games will be broadcast on the FCBL Network through a partnership with  BlueFrame Technology.

For a limited time, the FCBL and BlueFrame are making the All-Access Pass available for just $75 until July 5. To purchase, visit the FCBL Network website at www.fcblnetwork.com and select a broadcast and follow the purchase instructions.
